What is Problem Solving?

- Examine your competitors to learn how they are doing what they do well, meeting customer or industry needs.
Share your observations with your colleague and manager to start a discussion about what you’ve learned. Aim to develop an approach that is at least one or two steps ahead of the competition.
- Try to follow publications with creative business ideas about your business and jot down any new ideas that come to mind or hear.
Evaluate your ideas first, then share your appropriate suggestions with your manager.
- Find out how a colleague in the same role does the job and think about how it could be done better together. Support each other in improving aspects that need improvement.
- Develop your own approach to a difficult situation your company is facing or with your customers.
Consult senior management for their views on this matter. If you receive support, consider leading or joining a project group so that your approach can be applied throughout the organization.
- If you think you have found a better way, step forward to change the company’s approach to a particular problem. Be patient, consistent, and foresighted to gain support from those who need to approve of your approach.
- Review your past work and the problems you experienced during this work to identify the problems you have had with your customers and the obstacles you have encountered / may encounter.
Gather information about possible problems you may encounter in the work you will carry out by meeting with the relevant people. Develop and quickly implement prevention plans to prevent these problems from occurring.
- Develop solution alternatives for problems by coming together with your team.
Perform and analyze impact analysis for each decision or solution; Make a decision by analyzing how it will affect all relevant parties (employees, suppliers, customers and other units, etc.).
- Thinking about the examples you gained with customers, what did you do well in successful processes?
- Provide information about the purpose of the relationship with the customer, emphasizing the value this relationship will bring. Examine whether the customer agrees with you on this.
- Emphasize the value that the solutions you offer your customers add to them, and provide a suitable basis for new opportunities.
- When identifying the customer’s needs, look at the issues from the customer’s perspective and focus on the solutions actually offered.
In this way, clarify whether there is a difference between the expectation and the actual.
- Ask the customer the right questions to understand him, listen carefully to the answers to the questions and confirm the answers by observing. Provide resources so that new questions can be asked.
- Make a summary of the needs before offering any value to the customer. Communicate solution alternatives and the benefits they will provide with commercial awareness. Make a closing to reconcile the value that will result.
- It is possible that there will be objections from the customer during or after the value creation process. In this process, act with the awareness that objections are an opportunity rather than a threat.
- Listen to the objection well and show the customer that you listen to the objections in order to turn them into opportunities.
Deepen the subject with questions for a clearer understanding of what is being said. Confirm that the objection is properly understood and offer the best solution for mutual value creation.
- In cases where conventional solutions and methods are insufficient, bring innovative and untried solutions to the agenda and make them the subject of discussion, without forgetting the necessity of creating mutual value.
